 Brief description:

The department was established in conjunction with the Department of Quranic Sciences in the academic year (2004-2005), In the academic year 2007-2008, the two departments were separated, and each became an independent department. The Arabic language has unique features and characteristics, as it carries a sacred text for ages to come, and it is the language of Muslim prayer. It has been called the language of the letter ‘dad’ because this letter exists only in this language. The aim of the Arabic Language Department is to serve this language and its speakers. 
The department consists of the chairmanship and the rapporteurs of the morning and evening studies. The department has witnessed further development with the introduction of postgraduate studies. The department has various activities, including seminars, conferences and discussion panels, which are characterised by their seriousness and consideration of scientific aspects in research, all with the aim of producing advanced teaching staff.

The Department of Arabic Language and Literature aspires to achieve leadership and excellence in science, research and education in the fields of teaching and learning, in order to meet the needs of the labour market.

The department trains specialised teaching and research staff, opening up opportunities for interaction with society through qualified professionals in the field of language and literature. It reinforces the noble values embodied in language and provides all institutions with the linguistic and literary skills necessary for human development. 

Objectives:

Preparing a generation capable of carrying the trust of the Arabic language to future generations, as the language of the Holy Quran, and with the importance of educational, humanitarian and scientific values; for its effective impact on building society.
Developing scientific and cognitive skills and critical thinking skills among female students.
Contributing to the revival of ancient Arabic linguistic and intellectual heritage, highlighting our cultural landmarks and opening up horizons for them to fulfil their humanitarian mission.
Continue to develop study plans in line with the requirements of quality education and learning.
Building bridges of scientific and academic cooperation with relevant educational and scientific institutions, with the aim of spreading linguistic and literary culture in a manner commensurate with the scale of the task entrusted to them.
